Default Guild Wars 2's Elementalist In Action!

http://www.guildwars2.com/en/the-gam.../elementalist/

Looks like the details are slowly starting to be released! Some great pictures, information and in game videos! The game looks amazing, I really can't wait!

Couldn't see anything in the GW2 section about this but as this is really big news, i thought it should deserve a place here!

Looks like spells will be heavily animated in GW2, I guess many people will have to upgrade their gfx-cards to play it.

Btw. lol at "I'm so stunning" (the static field video).

Overall I hope that's just a demo and not actual gameplay, the mobs goes down way too easy for my liking.

Yay for "Much like in Guild Wars, the skill bar in Guild Wars 2 is limited to a set number of skills."

Phoenix looks pretty badass, but obviously self-heals (like a lot of skills in GW2 from the looks of it).

Still looks veeeeeery PvE oriented to me. Hopefully we're hear something about PvP other than "Hurr Durr it's WvW. You know, like AB and RA combined and easy for everyone!"

The phoenix is pure win. I dig the approach that GW2's combat is aiming for fun and easy coop rather than the spreadsheet monsters and angry PUGs.

My mind has changed alot about purchasing GW2 because of this release, and I think those monster that went down so quickly where probably to lower level area monster.

Eles being my first profession to GW i really appreciate this, I wonder how animated necro minion skills are .

Yeah, they usually test stuff like this on low level things. Wouldn't drive the point home unless you could see them get the kill, right?

But man, if the whole game looks like this, I'm gonna have to buy an eye dropper so I can play for days straight like I know I'll want to.

Hopefully they won't speak every time they cast a spell or kill something. That could get old fast!

You can probably turn that kind of thing off.

Hmmm I remember something about limiting the no. professions. Much like them limiting the number of skills.

Otherwise, looks good. Hope it doesn't lose too much of it's GW graphics (looked pretty 'standard' rpg feel, animations aside)

They will most likely remove Dervishes and other classes that came out after Prophecies.

Also, like KJ said, a lot of PvE here, very little about PvP.

Of course, but I'd hate to be so annoyed within the first 10 minutes that I'm forced to disable certain sounds.

I will definitely end up muting everything and listening to my own music, but I don't usually do that until I've played a game for a while.

It looks wonderful. I like the idea of the the skill sets automatically changing with the weapon set. That means I won't find my bow is almost useless because i have no skills.
Profession info tomorrow - that makes me even more excited. So far only warrior (with some paragon skill types) and ele confirmed.

I see 8 slots there. Assuming that they're not just creating two all-new professions, then we can expect two non-core ones to return, with the other two likely being folded into others.

I think it's fairly obvious the Paragon won't make the cut; it'll be folded back into the warrior.

According to this article on a german website there are currently 8 professions

"There are eight professions in Guild Wars 2, many of which will be familiar to fans of Guild Wars, as well as a few professions new to the Guild Wars world. Each of these professions is roughly categorized by the type of armor they wear: scholars wear light armor, adventurers wear medium armor, and soldiers wear heavy armor. Currently there are three scholar professions, three adventurer professions and two soldier professions."

Assuming Ele is 1 of the scholar professions
Warrior is also comfirmed because it is mentioned alot in the skill system explenation

Here's the link:

Pages 1-2-3 are german. Pages 4-5-6 are the english translations

The only real class I can see them bringing back is Assassin (in a different but similar form) and MAYBE Ritualists. Dervishes obviously not because there are no scythes in GW2, aparently, and same with paragons.

If they place the Paragon play style under the warrior as a branch, I wouldn't be surprised if they do the same for Dervishes. Less armor but more reliant on energy?
